REPORT ON ORDINANCE N.....................of 191 9.

1.

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance intituled

An Ordinance to provide that no person shall reside within the

southern portion of the Island of Cheung Chau otherwise known as

Dumb-bell Island without the consent of the Governor in Council,

andam of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the

Governor's Instructions.

2. The object of this Ordinance, which is framed on lines similar

to those in the Peak District Reservation Ordinance, 1918, is to

provide that no person shall reside in the Southern portion of

Cheung Chau Island without the consent of the Governor in Council;

which consent would include the family and employees and guests of the applicant for permission to reside.
